When the current spate of violent unrest erupted in Lebanon it was touted by Hizbullah’s leader, Hassan Nasrallah that they were striking out against the Lebanese government because they had committed “an act of war” against Hizbullah. What was this act of war? The government simply announced that they were going to shut down a private communications system built by Hizbullah which operated outside of government oversight and that they also were going to replace the head of security at Rafik Hariri International Airport because he was a Hizbullah sympathizer and was suspected of allowing arms shipments from Iran to pass through under the government’s radar.
